Dick’s Welding & Contracting LTD. (DWC) is proud to be a family owned and operated business. Originally established in 1990 by Richard (Dick) Fairclough. Bringing a lifetime of experience in Welding and Oilfield Construction. Dick built the company based on the core values that DWC still supports today. Since the retirement of Dick, Sole ownership and operation has been obtained by his son Ric Fairclough who has further developed services to serve Alberta's Oil and Gas and construction Industry.
DWC employees a team with a skill base that consists of Project Foremen, Journeyman Welders, Journeyman Pipefitters, Operators, Laborer’s, Equipment Operators, Safety Coordinators and Mechanic's.

Our conveniently located fabrication and maintenance shop is located in the Acheson Industrial Park, allowing DWC to meet the demands of our customers both locally and in areas throughout Alberta.
Ric Fairclough
With over 30+ years of experience, Ric was introduced to the oil and gas industry when he started working for the family business back in 1990. After five years performing oilfield maintenance and heavy equipment operating at DWC, Ric spent four years operating sour gas processing facilities within Alberta. This experience allowed Ric to gain intimate knowledge of the inner workings of gas processing facilities and processes. He also spent time operating onsite N2 generating equipment for the newly executed Under Balance Horizontal Drilling Practices. It was in this position that Ric gained vast knowledge of onsite and down hole operations. In 2000, Ric returned to DWC to take the position of Operations Manager. In 2005 the Company and assets were purchased from Ric's father Richard (Dick) Fairclough and Ric became the sole owner operator of DWC.
